My wee Poppet

On 18 May 2011 my wife and I were blessed with the addition of a son to our family. He is the first little sproggling for us, and probably one of the most amazing experiences of my life. You never really understand it when parents tell you that despite all the hardships, having children is one of the most rewarding, and special things you can do in your life. I now understand what they are talking about! It's a very amazing feeling, holding a little life that you helped create, and knowing that at that point in time, he (or she if you have a girl) loves you unconditionally. Then once they start growing you get to experience all their milestones, and enjoy every step in their growth towards being an adult. Now I can't let you know how this feels by telling you, it's something that you can only ever experience. But I will post up here with words (and pictures, for those of you that don't like words, and those who do) the events, milestones, and everything else I deem post worthy, so that you may get some glimmer of the awesomeness of it all! :D

4 July 2011:
Our son had his first immunizations today, and what a hideous experience! I was holding the wee guy while he was getting the injections, and would have to say as a parent, there is nothing worse than feeling your child go rigid with pain and then hearing him scream! I know it's for the best, but doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Then after that we had to take him to get a heel prick to get bloods done to check his jaundice levels as he is still looking a little yellow. So the poor wee man had holes poked all over him today.. What a stressful day for him and us! I wish I could have stayed at home and had snuggles all night, but have to make money somehow, so at work I am. I love my job, but love my son a whole lot more.
